Skala Beach, Agistri island

Skala Beach

Skala Beach is the most accessible beach on Agistri and the best starting point for visitors who want an easy first swim. It sits beside the village and close to the port, so the experience is simple: arrive, walk to the beach, swim, eat nearby and stay as long as you like.

What makes it work for families

The beach is known for shallow water and sand, which makes it one of the strongest family choices on the island. It also works best for travellers without transport, since accommodation, cafés, restaurants and the village are all close by. The white-and-blue church of Agioi Anargyroi stands right by the shore and is the visual landmark most people photograph here, though it’s far from the only reason to visit.

Practical tips

  • Gets crowded on peak summer afternoons — an early swim is quieter.
  • Shallow, gently sloping water suits young children well.
  • Everything you need — food, shade, accommodation — is within walking distance.
  • For a quieter coastline nearby, walk toward Skliri, roughly 15–20 minutes on foot.
